The Weight Your Body Chooses

By Luzmar

July 14, 2020

Have you ever heard the expression “the weight your body chooses”? This is something very interesting; generally, it comes from that state of homeostasis, that is, when your body regulates itself, to be in a state of balance.

Do you know what it is about? Typically, in the year we lose weight, we feel better than ever, ripped, etc., and then without much explanation, we increase a little.

Sometimes it is because we relax without realizing it. It could be it a hormonal issue. Other times, it is your body trying to regulate itself and get to that point of homeostasis, to that weight where it feels better, that is the weight that your body chooses. It’s that simple! Don’t get stressed out.

Being super defined all year round, especially for a woman, is complicated. In my particular case, right now, I feel good, defined, but I know that it may be different in some months.

Although I am very disciplined and know I will be in shape (or my definition of what being in shape means), they may be some changes down the road, and it’s normal! You can be in excellent shape all year round, but being at a very low-fat percentage and always being naturally ripped is difficult.

You can’t live on a constant fat loss regimen! That is something that you need to get out of your head, focus on making a plan you can maintain healthily, and make a real and manageable plan all year round.

Make a plan to be in a maintenance phase, in which you incorporate carbohydrates and calories, little by little, so that the body does not rebound.

Eating to maintain yourself is not the same as eating to lose fat!

You can be in shape all year round, but not so ripped, or living on a strict diet, that is counterproductive for your metabolism and hormones. Sometimes hormonal disorders come from restrictive diets, so analyze what you are doing and see a specialist.

Everything you do is going to impact your body, so sometimes a lot of good can be bad, so don’t worry about the weight your body chooses, if it ultimately makes you feel good.
